PINK Quinceañera

A Quinceañera only happens once, so why not celebrate it in style? Myrla Vanegas along with Dulce Torres planned and designed a lavish Victoria’s Secret PINK inspired celebration on the Fourth of July. Leaving no detail out, this Quinceañera was definitely unforgettable. Blooming Gallery transformed the San Luis Hotel’s  front lawn into a stunning ceremony space. With the waves of the ocean and a slight breeze, DaKine Films and Michelle Able Photography captured the sacred moments while this religious ceremony took place.

After the ceremony, guests were invited to join the Torres family at the San Luis Convention Center for the celebration of a life time.

The guests were surprised by many customized items such as two ice bars with Dulce’s monogram by Ice Designs, a PINK inspired cake by Edible Designs by Jessie , custom candelabras and stunning décor by Blooming Gallery,   Chocolate Fountain’s legendary churros and of course their chocolate fountains.  Alongside all her surprises, Dulce wowed guests with a dress change, an unforgettable dance with her father and a traditional crowning from both her parents.

Guests joined the dancing with songs from two esteemed Tejano bands: Tropical Panama and La Leyenda, all while entertained by two aerialist and roller skaters.  After dinner, dancing, a popcorn bar and Victoria’s Secret shopping bag cookies, guest didn’t know what to think of when the City of Galveston provided a beautiful array of fireworks in celebration of the fourth of July…and of course Dulce Torres!

Nacho’s Forty-Tenth Birthday

Nacho also announced that his love for food and wine had led him to open a fine dining restaurant in Houston, BCN, that is scheduled to open in September.

Nacho wanted a handsome late lunch that reflected the Spanish countryside.  The private event was held in his home under a striking white tent.  Blooming Gallery brought in over 12,000 orange tulips to fill this handsome space.   Wooden chairs and wooden chargers adorned with a sprig of rosemary from the houses garden finished off this stylish look.

Mike’s 30th Birthday Party

For Memorial Day weekend, we traveled back in time to the 80s! We put together a 30th Birthday party with an 80s Neon-Party at El Big Bad in downtown Houston. Black lights from LG Entertainment were used throughout the space to help make the creativity come alive.

As guests walked into the space they were encouraged to “Glow with it” by decking themselves out with glow in the dark rings, necklaces, bracelets, headbands and more! Edible Designs by Jessie made amazing petit fours that were neon with different 80s icons on them! Guests could enjoy light up cotton candy, food from El Big Bad. Custom cocktails such as the Ferris Bueller Berry, the Charlie Sheen, and the PAC MAN  were crafted for the party. Tables were covered in neon splattered linens with cassette tape vases on top filled with tonic water, which glows in black lights- Who Knew!? A life sized PAC MAN game covered the dance floor with glow in the dark balloons and giant Rubik’s Cubes lined the room while an 80’s movies montage was played on tv monitors.  The DJ kept the 80s spirit alive playing our favorite music from the decade!

Caricature Inspired

We loved loved loved working on this art deco wedding with Sarah and Tyler at Hotel ZaZa Houston. The ballroom was designed perfectly and made a intimate space out of a huge ballroom. Every detail was very personalized between the custom dessert spoons all the way down to the stationary detail by Papellerie. Gorgeous wedding cake by Edibles by Jessie along with a fire truck groom’s cake. Everything is beautiful thanks to Joe Cogliandro Photography

Sarah and Tyler had caricatures being made at the wedding and cigars being rolled.  A STUNNING backdrop made out of paper from Paper Floral Artistry for the band to play in front of. To end the night the couple hopped on a vintage fire truck while confetti canons sent them off!

Beautiful floral arrangements for the  wedding were done by Blooming Gallery

Patriotic Send Off……

We were excited when asked if we could assist in the planning of Chase’s 8th Grade Graduation and send off to military boarding school!  We got the call from his mother Perry Ann Reed whom we had worked with during our time with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.  She was the current  President Elect for the Junior League of Houston and was in charge of all the volunteers that participated in building a new home for the well-deserving Johnson Family.  She was an amazing connection and friend to Occasio.

We decided to go with the Patriotic theme since Chase was hailing to the military.  We paired his theme with nothing but his favorite treats!  Freebirds World Burrito came in and made awesome custom burritos for all the guest.  Hail to the Chief, Honest Abe and Star Spangled Lemonade were the beverages provided for Chase’s Guest that were served in Mason Jar’s and paired with striped and starred blue and red paper straws.  The Reed’s adult guest were served beverages in pails that read: Life, Liberty and Happiness or offered a fresh squeezed margarita or garden grown mojito that was topped with a watermelon star-spangled and blueberry skewer.

Lori Holley, with Special Arrangements, once again out did her self with the flower arrangements that dangled over striped custom runners by Occasio and white crisp linens for Elegant Beginnings.

Our favorite part of the entire of event was the white dance floor that was lit up with red, white, and blue LED lights  (provided by DJ Unlimited) and was covered with a custom logo we commissioned from Cat & Glasses.  Over the dance floor hung several patriotic lit paper lanterns. Take a look at our fun-filled evening.
